Summer is officially here and that means our bodies are ready for lighter foods and more movement. Naturally, the body thrives when we work with the seasons.
This is a time to shed what no longer serves us as well as take action, (physically, mentally, and emotionally) and become lighter, fresher, a more powerful version of ourselves.
I find it important to keep balance in mind. The body thrives off of it, so during the warmer seasons it's important to bring in foods that will keep us feeling cooled and grounded. When we are always in the heat, always in a mode of determination and motivation, sometimes the mind can become overwhelmed, leaving us feeling depleted and frustrated in the end. Luckily we have the miracles of herbs and plants to help us as we continue to be in these busy times.
This is a recipe that brings all elements of the body (physically, emotionally, mentally) back into a state of harmony, It's cooling & grounding, leaving us feeling more energized and ready for the days to come.
Anytime through out the day I need a pick me up I turn to these. They are infused with orange spice, coconut, homemade walnut butter (healthy fats) and pieces of my favorite drinking chocolate around, Cacoco. I highly suggest snagging a box for making this recipe because normal chocolate from the store will not have the same effect.
This company thrives to make you thrive. There ingredients are designed to keep the body healthy. Quality over quantity. You can go directly to their site to find out more and to order your own compostable box of artisan drinking chocolate. If you are in Southern- Northern California, you can snag a box from a local Whole Foods or speciality market.
May you have a motivated and inspirational summer.
